Inspect Your Rental Unit

If you’re thinking about moving into the Oklahoma City area, the Oklahoma City local movers suggest you do your own inspection when choosing a rental apartment. Some places will allow tenants to do their own move-in inspection and you can look out for many scratches, damaged panels, scuff marks, appliances that don’t work, stains on carpets, anything that can be used later to keep your deposit. When you do your inspection, make sure your landlord is there with you, documenting everything there. Take pictures, take notes and you can both sign in agreement. When it comes to get your deposit back, you’ll have proof that the imperfections that are part of the rental apartment are not due to you living there, but they were there prior to you moving in.

If you need help moving into a rental building, call the Oklahoma City movers for your stress-free residential moving services. All My Sons of Oklahoma City will move you in in no time and efficiently. We’re backed by four generations of moving experience and we’re experts even in commercial moves. So you have nothing to worry about.

Obama Reaches out to Unemployed Homeowners

According to MSN online, the Treasury Department just announced an additional $3 billion in funding that targets the nation’s unemployed borrowers. $2 billion of that money is being directed to States participating in the Hardest Hit Fund, boosting the $1.5 billion that they already have and $1 billion will be available through the Department of Housing and Urban Development to help homeowners in other hard-hit areas. Eligible homeowners will get 24-month no interest loan of up to $50,000. To be eligible they have to be at risk of foreclosure because of substantial reduction in income, like involuntary unemployment and underemployment or medical situation. The Atlanta movers learnt that homeowners also must prove that they have a reasonable likelihood to resume their mortgage payments and related housing expenses in two years, in addition to demonstrating a good payment record before they lost their job.

New Ways to Fill Vacant Homes

The local Oklahoma City moving specialists learnt that there are new types of properties available for Section 8 tenants. This can be a win-win situation for both landlords and people looking for a change. According to the Wall Street Journal, landlords in areas like Las Vegas are starting to market their upscale homes to low-income renters who receive aid like Section 8. These landlords are keeping their homes occupied, helping to reduce crime that usually vacant homes attract and get a guaranteed payment delivered electronically. The Oklahoma City movers found out that some of these tenants are getting pickier with the homes they are offered, some even turning them down. They are going for bigger homes in better areas with more bedrooms. According to the article on MSN, neighbors have mixed feelings about this situation, some happy to have people reside in otherwise vacated places and others complaining about it.
